About the project
The problem
Florissant's wastewater system needed modernizing. The district needed a new influent lift station, and 35,000 feet of aging collection pipe needed rehabilitation.
Both were key to reliable wastewater service and to future growth in the area.
The work also had to meet state permitting rules and the requirements of its funding.
Site photos from May 2022 show the existing station: the wet well and its submersible pump, the control panels, the standby generator and the electric service.
The pathway
MES prepared plans and technical specifications for a new 57,000 gallon per day replacement lift station.
MES wrote the engineering report for submittal to the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE).
For the collection system, MES reviewed CCTV data and inspection reports to find problem areas, then prepared lining plans and specifications for the 35,000 feet of pipe.
MES also helped local officials prepare grant funding documents.
The result
The work produced plans and specifications for the replacement lift station, an engineering report for the state submittal and grant funding documents.
The lining plans target the problem areas the CCTV review found, with the aim of restoring 35,000 feet of aging pipe.
