Town of Sasakwa water tank improvements
The town's water tank recoating and structural repairs were completed, carried from an MES grant engineering report and specifications through bidding and construction.
About the project
The problem
The Town of Sasakwa, Oklahoma had an aging water storage tank. Its coating had broken down and the structure showed wear, which put its reliability at risk.
Site photos of the tank show peeling paint, exposed primer, rust streaks and corrosion at the base.
The tank needed recoating and structural repairs, and the town needed grant funding to pay for them.
The pathway
MES worked with town officials to assess the tank's condition.
MES wrote an engineering report on the tank's condition, repair needs and costs. The report documented the need for funding and supported the town's grant application.
Once funding was secured, MES prepared the plans and technical specifications for recoating and structural repair. They gave the town a precise scope of work for contractor bidding.
MES then supported bidding, prepared the contract and provided construction phase services.
The result
The town secured its funding. The specifications set out the recoating and repairs needed to extend the tank's service life.
MES worked on the notice of award in November 2025 and reviewed the paint submittal in February 2026.
The tank recoating and structural repairs were completed. MES worked on project close out in April 2026.
