MES quantified water loss and I&I for the town and delivered a final report with engineering estimates and a prioritized roadmap in 2024; follow-up work continues in 2026.

Project
MES modeled wet weather sewer flows, drew the sewer and waterline plans and finished the collection system project manual for the City of Cripple Creek, and as of October 2026 the project is under construction.
The City of Cripple Creek, Colorado, had a sewer collection and water distribution project.
The sewer design needed design flows that account for the infiltration and inflow that rain adds to the pipes.
MES worked from survey notes and base files and built a model of the sewer network.
The team modeled rainfall-derived infiltration and inflow (RDII), set its parameters, worked out peak wet weather flow and determined the design flows. It also defined a sewershed for a flow monitoring study.
MES checked the model for capacity, checked manhole labels and pipe diameters, and wrote a memo and a cost estimate. The memo was finalized in April 2024.
The team reviewed the sewer and water as-built records and drew the sewer plan and profile sheets and the sanitary sewer drawings. It checked spot elevations and updated the model and drawings.
The work also took in a Cripple Creek public meeting and a site visit, both in May 2024.
In July 2024 MES made a CCTV recommendation for the collection and distribution project. Waterline drawings followed in August 2024.
The plans went to a project check set in September 2024, then through plan review and QA/QC into 2025.
In 2025 MES updated the specifications and prepared the Cripple Creek Collection System Project Manual, including its contract documents.
The work produced a sewer model with wet weather flows, a memo and cost estimate, and sewer and waterline drawings.
MES finished the collection system project manual in December 2025.
As of October 2026, the project is under construction.
