Prairie Corner wastewater lift station
MES planned and designed a wastewater lift station in Brighton, Colorado, from site plan to application, and the station has since been built.

About the project
The problem
A site in Brighton, Colorado needed a wastewater lift station.
The station had to fit the site, connect to the existing infrastructure and manage excess wastewater during high-flow events. It also needed a site plan application to secure approval.
MES started on the station in December 2021.
The pathway
MES laid out the site plan for the lift station, with attention to land use, access and the tie-ins to existing infrastructure.
We designed the overflow piping so excess wastewater has a managed path during high flows.
We planned the lift station system to meet local codes and regulations, and we completed all of the hydraulic calculations the station needed.
We wrote and submitted the site plan application.
The result
The station was built. Photos taken in June 2023 show the fiberglass enclosure on its concrete pad, with control cabinets, a standby generator and a rock-lined drainage swale beside a highway interchange.
Views down the concrete wet well show the discharge piping and cables running to the submerged pumps.
MES carried the station from site layout through the application: site plan, overflow piping, system planning and hydraulics.
