Project
A growing RV park in Colorado replaced its aging wastewater system with a 40,000 gpd plant designed to strict effluent limits.
Wall forms for the new treatment plant during construction, Gypsum, Colorado, August 2024.
An RV park in Colorado was growing. Its aging wastewater treatment system could no longer handle the demand or meet updated discharge requirements.
The replacement plant had to carry the higher flows and meet strict effluent limits: BOD of 5 mg/L, TSS of 1 mg/L and total inorganic nitrogen (TIN) of 80 mg/L.
MES led the civil design for a new treatment plant sized for 40,000 gallons per day.
We developed the engineering plans and technical specifications for the plant to meet regulatory standards.
We also designed the site layout. It covered grading, drainage and the utilities that serve the new plant and keep the park running.
During construction, MES worked closely with the construction team. We answered design questions and gave technical support throughout the build.
In August 2024 the plant's concrete walls were going up, with wall forms and rebar set beside a deep excavation.
In 2025 MES prepared the as-built drawings for the finished work.
The replacement plant is complete. It was built to carry the park's higher flows and designed to its effluent limits.
MES stayed with the project from design through construction, and the as-built drawings record what was built.
