Where we work
Water and wastewater engineering in Commerce City, CO: waterline replacement, sewer and lift station design and site civil, with city and CDPHE review.
MES designs water, sewer and site civil work in Commerce City, Colorado. We work for property owners, developers, utilities and other engineering firms.
Work here includes waterline replacements and extensions, sewer and lift station design, hydraulic models, and plan sets taken through city review to approval. Our Colorado office is in Golden.
Commerce City sits in Adams County, on the north side of the Denver metro area. The South Adams County Water and Sanitation District (SACWSD) provides water and sewer service for most of the city. Water service is not a function of the city government.
The Engineering Division in Community Development reviews civil construction plans, drainage reports and traffic reports for development projects, often together with the land use application.
Land outside the city goes through Adams County. We cover that path in the Adams County project review process.
At the state level, construction that disturbs one acre or more needs CDPHE construction stormwater coverage. A new lift station or treatment plant above 2,000 gallons per day needs CDPHE site location and design approval.
In Commerce City, MES designed a waterline replacement for a mobile home park. We built an EPANET hydraulic model, answered rounds of city comments until the plans were approved, and attended the pre-construction meeting. Construction is finished, and residents no longer complain about water pressure.
North in Brighton, we designed a wastewater lift station and wrote its site plan application. MES has also completed drive-up water kiosk sites in Thornton and Westminster, part of a multi-state kiosk program.
SACWSD serves most of the city. We confirm the provider for each address before design starts.
